DelonJobs is helping a leading insurance company in Nigeria hire a Business Development Manager who will be responsible for improving CTL’s market position and visibility whilst maximizing revenue for the organization. This entails building a robust customer base, managing customer relationships, identifying business opportunities, negotiating, and closing business deals. Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree (minimum of 2ndClass Lower), must currently reside in Lagos, possess a minimum of 8 years relevant experience in the financial Services industry and a very good knowledge of the Trustee’s industry. Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Execution
- Develops and implements overarching business development strategies, sales processes, structure and best practices across the company.
- Drives CTL’s marketing programs, track performance, and report sales metrics.
- Assists with the preparation of the company’s budget, where necessary.
- Monitors and evaluates industry trends, meets regularly with management and other stakeholders to discuss business strategy.
Revenue Generation
- Prepares proposals and business materials to establish and nurture business opportunities and partnerships.
- Identifies trends and customer needs, building a short/medium/long-term sales pipeline in accordance with targets.
- Manages proposal response process, including collating detailed RFP requirements, content creation, and inputs from various sources.
- Generates new leads, identifies and contacts decision-makers, screen potential business opportunities and facilitate pitch logistics.
- Engages stakeholders and negotiates prices for bids and proposals.
- Establishes and builds relationships with both prospective and new clients.
- Manages both existing sales pipeline and develops new business opportunities.
- Liaises with clients to handle queries or service issues by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion.
- Introduces new products and services to enhance existing relationships.
- Engages management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
- Identifies and proposes opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to increase in sales.
Others
- Works with internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
- Submit weekly progress updates on marketing calls and business development drives to the MD.
- Prepares and presents periodic business performance reports, including recommendations for improvement to the MD.
- Any other duty that may be assigned by the MD.
Skills/Competencies
- Excellent knowledge of the marketing techniques and regulations guiding financial institutions especially Trustees Industry.
