Job Description

Responsibilities:

  1. He/she will be responsible for creating recipes, menus, preparing ingredients, producing meals that taste amazing and garnishes that make the food look attractive.
  2. He/she will monitor and supervise the preparation and administration of meals from the kitchen by the kitchen staff.
  3. The Chef/Cook will make adjustments to the recipes as needed.
  4. He/she will follow the created recipes to ensure consistency as well as lead the kitchen staff, and oversee the activities of the Kitchen & Pastry Assistants.
  5. He/she will establish menu items and create the recipes.
  6. Ensure ingredients and final products purchased are fresh.
  7. Ensure the raw materials and ingredients received are properly stored in functioning refrigerators and clean storage areas.
  8. Supervise kitchen staff to make sure meals are prepared in a timely manner in preparation for the day’s service.
  9. Bake, steam and, boil meats, poultry, fish, vegetables, pastries, and other foods as needed per production schedule.
  10. Oversee the distribution of meals assigned for the days service.
  11. Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment’s and dishes.
  12. Maintain excellent food safety and sanitation standards.
  13. Preparation of food/orders for events.

Requirements:

  1. Candidate MUST be able to handle cooking delicious meals in large quantity, daily (500 and above).
  2. Candidate MUST be familiar with Food Safety guidelines.
  3. Candidate MUST be able to work with minimum supervision.
  4. Fast working knowledge of preparing delicious African dishes and more. Good knowledge of preparing and baking pastries.
  5. Keen attention to detail. In-depth knowledge in sanitation principles, food preparation and nutrition.
  6. Understanding of Inventory Management.
  7. Leadership skills.

 

Work Hours: Flexible working hours, including weekends and evenings (if necessary), Candidate must reside on the Mainland within Ojo, Igando, Iba Town, Egbeda OR close surrounding environs
