Job Description

  • Coordinate the development of communication strategies, communication in the humanitarian context and advocacy and ensure their implementation in line with the ambitions of the Country Strategy;
  •  Supervise the periodic evaluation of the implementation of the various strategies and ensure the implementation of the remediation plans;
  •  Supervise and coach the team in charge of communication and advocacy;
  •  Perform a power analysis and the theory of change of the various strategies and update them periodically;
  •  Develop and maintain a database containing a list of stakeholders in Plan International Niger actions (at local, municipal, national level) who can serve as allies to support the positions of Plan International and its partners;
  •  Ensure the implementation of Plan International’s Campaigns in Niger.
  •  Establish a map of national events to serve as a lobbying platform in favor of Plan International Niger’s country strategy; a directory of current government policies, laws and strategies relating to basic social sectors, and harmful socio-cultural practices in the various project intervention areas;
  •  Provide technical expertise to project teams and PIIAs in the development of communication, lobbying and advocacy activities for their specific projects;
  •  Designing framework and guidance notes for the benefit of staff for the implementation of influence strategies – advocacy, communication, including in humanitarian situations;
  •  Organize global and regional initiatives on the advocacy and communication of Plan International Niger;
  •  Oversee the active participation of Plan International Niger in the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) process through the production of alternative civil society reports;
  •  Ensure the follow-up and feedback of reports on the CEDAW and ACRWC at the national level
  •  Develop and manage relations with the media, journalists’ networks as well as NGOs and government authorities and agencies of the United Nations System;
  •  Introduce innovations to strengthen the capacity of staff to communicate and implement influence plans using a variety of channels and for different audiences;
  •  Encourage, facilitate and qualitatively support media visits to the Country
