Job Description

 Grants Management; Oversee and act as Amref Health Africa in Tanzania expert on grant makingprocess which includes grants applications, documentation and timely submission of grantreports: ensure compliance with donor, government regulations and Amref requirements on allgrant applications. Lead in partner (CBO &NGO) capacity assessments, grant agreementnegotiations, review and approval of sub-grant deliverables. Ensure that there is timely reportingby the sub grantees and ensure that also there is timely, accurate and complete reporting to thedifferent donors. Lead in tracking grant performance by the different projects on monthly basisand feedback/notification given to the different grant teams. Maintain contact and coordinatewith donors regarding grant implementation, compliance and other requirements, incoordination with senior management. Human Resources management; to foster good teamwork and provide effective Leadership withingrants department. Identify Grants staff development needs and provide coaching and mentoring,as well as link to training and development opportunities, to spur performance. Identify andmanage internal conflict through appropriate resolution mechanisms, where necessary involvingthe programme/Project manager Project Management; Co-ordinates programs/Project in reviewing eligibility assessment ofprospective grantees: ensure that grant review and award processes is in line with Amref grantspolicies and procedures. Support programs in External and internal financial audit process; overseethe implementation of the both internal and external audit recommendations. Training and Capacity Building, Lead in the development of Sub Recipient capacity building plansand development of Training materials, Foster good teamwork and provide effective Leadershipwithin grants department. Identify Grants staff development needs and provide coaching andmentoring, as well as link to training and development opportunities, to spur performance. Identifyand manage internal conflict through appropriate resolution mechanisms, where necessaryinvolving the programme/Project manager. Grants Management Committee; Chair the Grants Management Committee whose main mandateas per the TOR are:- (1) Harmonised sub-granting systems and procedures for AMREF Tanzania, (2)Coordination of sub-grants for various projects, (3) Capacity building and Organizationaldevelopment programme for Grants staff and sub- grantees, (4) Replication of best Practices acrossprojects, (5) Participation in new Proposal and Budget development and (6) Management of Closeout Projects which have sub-granting mechanism
