- To be responsible for daily schedule of the newsroom that includes editing of news
- To ensure media policy of the institution is understood and put into practice.
- To come up with weekly schedules for the newsroom staff
- Ensure the news bulletin comes on time and its content is of quality and has substance
- Handle all issues relevant to news production and magazine programmes
