Job Description
Health Service Assistant communicate with patients, relatives and carers. Assisting with clinical duties. personal care including infection prevention and control, food, personal hygiene and overall reassurance, comfort and safety.
Ultimately, observing, monitoring and recording patients conditions by taking temperatures, pulse, respiration.
As well as helping patients maintain their independence.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
● Going to care homes and conducting surprise inspect.
● Monitoring a patient’s condition via pulse and temperature checks.
● Serving food and helping them eat.
● Helping patients move around within or outside the building.
● Conducting periodic health checks.
● Assisting with lab sample processing.
● Sterilising equipment.
● Making the beds or replacing sheets.
● Helping patients go to the bathroom or take a bath/shower.
Skills and Qualifications:
Health Service Assistant are not Required to have a Specific Educational Background but will greatly benefit from knowing basic Medical Terminology, Administrative Skills and Good Interpersonal Communication but a Great Benefit for a Bachelor’s Degree in medical Administration, kind and caring attitude and Time Management Skills, Sympathy and compassion,leadership potential, Interpersonal Communication, Client Relationships, critical thinking skills.
