Overview
Project Last Mile (PLM) is a public-private partnership designed to leverage and apply the supply chain and marketing expertise of The Coca-Cola Company and its network of partners to improve medicine distribution and uptake of health services. In Tanzania, in support of nationwide efforts to strengthen delivery and distribution of essential medicines and commodities to the last mile, PLM is providing technical support to the Mission for Essential Medical Supplies Company (MEMS), a complementary not-for-profit partner to the Medical Stores Department. PLM will support MEMS to refresh its 2017 – 2021 Business Plan and institutionalize a Route to Market (RTM) Model to help ensure delivery against its core mandate to provide effective, efficient and reliable distribution of health commodities across all targeted Health Facilities and Dispensaries serviced, based on proven RTM models from The Coca-Cola System that have been successfully adapted and applied by PLM across health systems in Africa.
