Job Description

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the advocacy and social dialogue strategy of the country office, using a political economy approach to understand the relationships between the different actors (. Ensure the harmonization of advocacy and political dialogue in line with the global and regional guidelines of UNICEF and the NIGER-UNICEF cooperation program.
  • Identify opportunities for advocacy, influence and partnerships to carry out policy and legislative reforms favorable to the rights of children and women. Formulate recommendations for approaches and messages for political advocacy and societal dialogue with government partners, political decision-makers, civil society organizations, international financial institutions and / or other groups and influential persons who can contribute to the cause of children in Niger.
  • Provide strategic advice and communication to management and UNICEF sector colleagues to initiate high-level strategic partnerships and write proposals for arguments capable of influencing decision-makers.
  • Support the UNICEF team in the design and implementation of an advocacy and partnership strategy in support of the agenda for adolescents and young people at the regional level, in particular for the participation of adolescents and young people decision-making. Ensure that contextual dynamics (social, political, cultural, religious) that hinder or promote the rights of children and women and social dialogue in Niger are taken into account
