Coordinate and check that DTM enumerators and field teams are collecting quality data in a timely manner and according to DTM schedules
Provide technical support for capacity building initiatives for DTM staff and national counterparts on data collection, analysis and reporting and organize appropriate capacity building activities for DTM enumerators and field teams on topics such as the necessary tools and knowledge for strong data collection.
Work in close collaboration with the DTM Coordinator, Regional Office and DTM Unit at IOM Geneva Headquarters (HQs) to contribute to the development of improvements in methodologies and assessment tools which increase analytical capabilities and the acquisition of fluid population movement trends in line with global standards.
Perform preliminary analysis of DTM data and contribute to the development of useful reports for internal and external stakeholders, including IOM project coordinators, donors, and the wider humanitarian sector.
Facilitate the provision of timely, accurate, standardized, and adequate information to all relevant stakeholders (humanitarian as well as transition/recovery actors) regarding movements, new displacements, mobility trends, and conditions in return/relocation areas paying special attention to the situation of vulnerable groups including children, elderly, and disabled persons.
Review existing DTM mechanisms, including mobility tracking, flow monitoring, site assessments, and other information gathering systems.
Track and monitor population movements within the framework of DTM activities and implement other DTM tools; provide technical inputs to assist the DTM Coordinator in the development of improved tracking and monitoring systems.
Contribute to enhancing the skills of the IM and Database Assistant to compile DTM data by providing technical guidance and training. Provide technical inputs and data to contribute to the preparation of reports on the findings of population tracking exercises and DTM missions, including internally displaced persons (IDPs) registrations, assessments, and population mobility trends.
Provide technical guidance and information on methodological approaches and best information management (IM) practices to field teams, government and local organization counterparts, including on the collection, processing and analysis of data and information, and DTM policies and procedures, with an emphasis on technological applications.
Support the DTM Coordinator in liaising with relevant authorities, UN agencies, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), think tanks, government authorities, and other stakeholders on issues relevant to the DTM programming by providing information, updates and other required data.
Facilitate the mainstreaming of protection consideration across DTM operations, with special focus on gender, Gender-Based Violence (GBV), age and disability inclusion.
Check and follow up on the appropriate integration of the principles and commitments of Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) to the DTM programming.
Contribute to the development of new projects including for the purpose of fundraising.
