Legal & Compliance Associate (LCAMC0126)

DelonJobs is seeking to hire a Legal & Compliance Associate for a leading financial company in Lagos, Nigeria. The successful candidate will provide legal advisory and compliance support to the company and its management, including regulatory monitoring, legal documentation, compliance reporting, and corporate governance support. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities 

The Legal & Compliance Associate will be responsible for: 

• Providing legal advisory support to the company and management. 
• Advising on the interpretation of laws and regulations, monitoring regulatory amendments, and updating management on their implications. 
• Drafting and reviewing legal documents, or supervising external counsel to ensure proper drafting and review of legal documentation. 
• Reviewing offering and investment memoranda. 
• Supporting regulatory filings and reporting obligations. 
• Performing compliance functions, including ensuring adherence to internal manuals, procedures, andregulatory requirements. 
• Maintaining exception reports, compliance registers, and incident logs. 
• Assisting with compliance reviews and internal control monitoring. 
• Tracking AML, CFT, CPF, data protection, and policy compliance. 
• Monitoring statutory obligations and advising management accordingly. 
• Preparing monthly and quarterly reports as delegated by the team lead. 
• Supporting Board and Committee meeting coordination. 
• Preparing board packs and meeting minutes. 
• Maintaining statutory registers and filings. 
• Monitoring policy implementation across business units. 
• Performing other duties as may be assigned by the team lead. 

Educational and Professional Qualifications 

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Law or a related field. 
• Master’s degree is an added advantage. 

 Experience 

• Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in a commercial law firm or financial services company. 

 Competency Requirements 

• Decisiveness and ability to work with minimal supervision. 
• Adaptability. 
• Strong legal drafting and contract negotiation skills. 
• Advanced critical and legal reasoning skills. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• Strong attention to detail. 
• Commercial awareness. 

Applicants must have a minimum bachelor’s degree in law or a related field. A master’s degree is an added advantage. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a commercial law firm or financial services company is required. 

 Monthly gross salary: ₦1,000,000
