Job Description

Job Summary

The Training Manager will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and delivering technical and product training programs for installers, sales teams, and operational staff within the renewable energy business. The role will focus on improving technical competency, product understanding, installation quality, and overall operational efficiency across the business.

The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of solar and renewable energy products, excellent training delivery skills, and the ability to simplify technical concepts for different audiences.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical & Installer Training

  • Develop and conduct technical training programs for solar installers and technicians.
  • Train field teams on product installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and safety procedures.
  • Create and maintain installation standards, technical guidelines, and SOPs.
  • Conduct practical hands-on training sessions and field coaching.
  • Evaluate installer competency and recommend certification where applicable.

2. Product Training for Internal Teams

  • Deliver product knowledge training to sales, customer service, and operations teams.
  • Educate staff on product features, specifications, applications, and competitive advantages.
  • Simplify technical product information into customer-friendly and sales-focused messaging.
  • Support product demonstrations and onboarding sessions for new staff.

3. Training Content Development

  • Develop structured training materials including presentations, manuals, videos, guides, and assessment tools.
  • Continuously update training content based on product upgrades, new launches, and market trends.
  • Ensure training materials are suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.

4. Training Coordination & Delivery

  • Coordinate onboarding, refresher, and advanced training programs across multiple locations.
  • Organize classroom, virtual, and field-based training sessions.
  • Maintain training schedules, attendance records, and assessment reports.
  • Ensure consistent training standards across all operational regions.

5. Performance Monitoring & Improvement

  • Monitor training effectiveness through assessments, field audits, feedback, and operational performance.
  • Identify knowledge and performance gaps among installers and internal teams.
  • Develop improvement plans and coaching initiatives to address identified gaps.
  • Track KPIs related to installation quality, product knowledge, and training completion.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Service, and Operations teams to align training objectives with business goals.
  • Support new product launches with structured training plans.
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert for renewable energy products and solutions.

Requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Technical Education, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4–6 years’ experience in technical training, preferably within renewable energy, solar, electrical, or consumer electronics industries.
  • Strong knowledge of solar energy systems, inverters, batteries, and installation practices.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for different audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and training presentation tools.
  • Strong organizational and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience managing field installers or technical service teams.
  • Knowledge of adult learning methodologies and training evaluation techniques.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and technical support experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and target-driven environment.
