As a Cybersecurity Specialist at MTN Nigeria, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our networks, systems, and sensitive information from cyber threats. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing cybersecurity strategies to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our digital assets. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and hands-on experience in mitigating evolving cyber threats.

Job Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with leadership to define and prioritize cybersecurity initiatives and investments.
• Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and trends.
• Implement and manage threat intelligence programs to proactively identify and mitigate potential risks.
• Lead incident response efforts, conducting investigations, root cause analyses, and implementing corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain incident response plans and procedures.
• Implement security awareness programs to educate employees on cybersecurity best practices.
• Conduct training sessions to enhance the overall cybersecurity awareness of staff.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and address potential weaknesses in systems and networks.
• Collaborate with IT teams to remediate identified vulnerabilities.
• Develop, update, and enforce security policies, standards, and guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with IT architects to integrate security into system and network designs.
• Conduct security reviews of infrastructure and application architectures.
• Coordinate and participate in internal and external security audits.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks, industry standards, and contractual obligations.
• Evaluate, implement, and manage cybersecurity technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus solutions, and encryption tools.
• Monitor the effectiveness of security technologies and make recommendations for improvements.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of cybersecurity processes, procedures, and configurations.
• Generate regular reports on cybersecurity metrics, incidents, and risk assessments for leadership.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience: 3-7 years an experience in an area of Security specialization with experience working with others Experience working in a Large organization 
• Proven experience in cybersecurity roles with a focus on risk management and incident response.
• In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and best practices.
• Hands-on experience with security technologies and tools.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
