Role Description

  • The Head of Marketing is a full-time, on-site role based in Lagos.
  • This role involves developing and implementing marketing strategies, conducting market research, managing marketing teams, building relationships through public relations, and supporting sales initiatives.
  • The individual will play a key role in expanding brand visibility, driving customer engagement, and ensuring consistent business growth.

Qualifications
Strategic Marketing Oversight:

  • Develop and implement the overall marketing strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Monitor and evaluate marketing performance metrics, providing regular reports to senior management.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform campaigns and strategic initiatives.

Sales-Driven Marketing Strategies:

  • Design marketing campaigns that directly support revenue growth and sales objectives.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure alignment of marketing activities with sales targets.
  • Develop and execute product promotion campaigns to increase customer acquisition, retention, and market share.
  • Analyse customer behavior and market trends to identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and new product launches.
  • Set measurable KPIs for campaigns tied to revenue targets and monitor performance regularly.
  • Optimize marketing spend for maximum ROI, focusing on channels that generate high-quality leads.

Public Relations & Corporate Communication:

  • Develop PR strategies that enhance brand reputation and corporate image.
  • Manage media relations, press releases, corporate announcements, and events.
  • Coordinate product launches and media engagements to generate positive publicity.
  • Handle crisis communications and maintain consistent, professional messaging.
  • Monitor media coverage and public sentiment, providing insights for strategic decisions.

Team Leadership & Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the marketing team to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Allocate resources efficiently and coordinate cross-functional marketing projects.
  • Promote collaboration across departments and ensure smooth execution of campaigns.

Digital Marketing & Creative Execution:

  • Oversee digital marketing campaigns including SEO, SEM, social media, content marketing, and email campaigns.
  • Hands-on involvement in graphic design and creative content development.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all digital and offline channels.

Product Knowledge & Customer Engagement

  • Maintain deep knowledge of company products and services to support marketing initiatives.
  • Utilize CRM software to track leads, customer interactions, and campaign effectiveness.
  • Develop customer engagement strategies to enhance loyalty and retention.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Develop marketing policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Provide input on marketing budgets and financial planning.
  • Stay updated on emerging marketing trends, technologies, and best practices.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of professional work experience, including at least 4 years in core digital marketing roles.
  • Proven experience managing and leading a marketing team.
  • Hands-on experience in graphic design, social media management, and campaign execution.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, creative, and strategic thinking skills.
