Job Description

Job Summary

  • The Pharmacy Technician supports the Pharmacist in dispensing medications, managing inventory, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring efficient pharmacy operations.
  • The role requires attention to detail, compliance with regulatory standards, and excellent customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Pharmacist in dispensing prescribed medications accurately.
  • Receive, process, and prepare prescriptions for dispensing.
  • Label medications and provide appropriate packaging under supervision.
  • Maintain accurate patient medication records and pharmacy documentation.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock availability.
  • Receive, store, and organize pharmaceutical products according to standards.
  • Check expiry dates and remove expired or damaged products from inventory.
  • Assist in stock-taking and inventory reconciliation.
  • Process sales transactions and maintain accurate financial records where applicable.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and refer clinical questions to the Pharmacist.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy environment.
  • Support procurement and ordering of medications and pharmacy supplies.
  • Assist in preparing reports and other administrative duties as required.

Requirements

Requirement & Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in Pharmacy Technician Studies from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 1-2 yearsprevious experience in a hospital or pharmacy is an advantage.
  • Valid Pharmacy Technician license/certification where applicable.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical products and pharmacy operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy management software is an added advantage.
