Job Description

Role Summary

  • Manage the company transport and logistics operations including vehicle fleet management, driver supervision, movement scheduling, and compliance with Nigerian road transport regulations.
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective transportation of personnel, materials, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the company vehicle fleet: allocation, scheduling, maintenance coordination, and fuel management.
  • Supervise drivers and ensure compliance with defensive driving standards and company transport policies.
  • Plan and coordinate logistics for material and equipment movement to field sites.
  • Ensure all vehicles have valid documentation (insurance, road worthiness, registration, FRSC compliance).
  • Manage fleet operating costs control, fuel consumption tracking, and transport budgets.
  • Coordinate with project teams on personnel and material transportation requirements.
  • Investigate and report traffic incidents and near-misses; implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain a transport log, vehicle utilisation records, and driver performance data.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • B.Sc / HND qualification in Transport Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in fleet/transport management, preferably in oil and gas or construction.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian road transport regulations and FRSC requirements.
  • Experience managing heavy-duty vehicle logistics (low-bed trailers, crane carriers, tankers).
  • Proficiency in fleet management software or ERP transport modules.
  • Valid driver licence (Class E preferred).
  • Completion of NYSC (mandatory).

Added Advantage:

  • Defensive Driving Instructor certification.
  • Experience with Journey Management Systems (JMS) used by IOCs.
  • Knowledge of dangerous goods transport regulations.
