Job Description

DelonJobs is seeking to hire a Group Head, Information and Technology for a financial Company in Lagos, Nigeria. 

The ideal candidate will lead engineering strategy and execution for a diversified financial group, overseeing platform development, systems integration, and cybersecurity. They will ensure secure, scalable, and seamless transaction processing across multiple channels and regions.

Interested candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an IT related field, with at least minimum of 8–10 years of experience in software engineering or technical leadership, preferably in fintech, BDC, IMTO, or banking. 

Monthly net salary is between N 1,170,000 - N2,250,000

Key Responsibilities:  

  1. Technology Strategy & Leadership
  • Develop and drive a unified technology roadmap aligned with group objectives.
  • Guide and support subsidiary tech leaders; ensure tech input in executive planning.
  • Promote standardization for platform compatibility and innovation across the Group.

   2. Subsidiary Technology Oversight

  • Supervise design, deployment, and operations of tech platforms in all markets.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, service delivery consistency, and SLA adherence.
  • Consolidate reporting on key technology metrics from all subsidiaries. 

   3.Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Implement a group-wide cybersecurity framework.
  • Ensure compliance with local and global regulations (e.g., GDPR, CBN, NDPR).
  • Align IT risk management and data governance across jurisdictions.

    4.Innovation & Product Development

  • Lead cross-border innovation in fintech products (e.g., wallets, payments, blockchain).
  • Oversee product localization while maintaining backend consistency.
  • Manage a centralized development hub for scalable product rollouts.

    5.Technology Governance & Architecture

  • Establish group-wide IT governance, policies, and controls.
  • Standardize enterprise architecture for efficiency and data integration.
  • Set up systems for performance monitoring, change management, and escalation.

    6.People Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead a distributed tech team across all subsidiaries.
  • Build internal capacity through Centers of Excellence in AI, DevOps, and cybersecurity.
  • Drive talent development, training, and succession planning.

    7.Vendor, Budget & Asset Management

  • Centralize procurement to reduce costs and improve vendor management.
  • Manage the group’s IT budget with subsidiary-level accountability.
  • Oversee asset management and software licensing across all entities.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Possess minimum of 8–10 years of experience in software engineering or technical leadership, preferably in fintech, BDC, IMTO, or banking.
  • Master’s degree will be an added advantage. 
  • Certifications in cloud architecture (AWS, Azure), DevOps, or cybersecurity (CISSP, CEH) are an advantage. 
  • Strong background in scalable, distributed systems, microservices, and high-availability financial platforms. 
  • Proficient in backend and API development (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java) and mobile/web frameworks (e.g., React, Flutter). 
  • Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS/Azure cloud infrastructure. 
  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity best practices and regulatory compliance (CBN, EFCC, NFIU, GDPR). 
  • Experience with IMTO integrations, FX engines, and third-party payment APIs (e.g., NIBSS, SWIFT, Flutterwave, Remita). 
  • Strong project management skills (Agile/Scrum), with the ability to translate business goals into technology deliverables. 
  • Passion for leveraging emerging technologies like blockchain, AI/ML, or RegTech to improve product offerings.  
  • Deep understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in Nigeria’s FX and remittance space.
