Job Description

  • Develops and maintains deep knowledge and familiarity with current and prospective partners and relevant stakeholders (including humanitarian and development actors) operating in Diffa region, contributing to a database of key contacts in support of UNICEF’s policy advocacy, strategic alliances and partnerships to promote adaptive and responsive humanitarian and development programming as part of the New Way of Working in the complex emergency context of Diffa region.
  • Scans and scouts region-wide and cross-border, political, social and economic dynamics for opportunities and risks affecting children’s rights and well-being and shares information in a timely fashion with relevant UNICEF staff.
  • Conduct and/or participate in comprehensive situation analysis of social, cultural, economic and political issues affecting the Diffa /region, including through national/subnational working groups or committees using participatory, political economy or other innovative methods as relevant. Seeks and promotes new strategic alliances and influential partnerships for leverage and influencing with the view of promoting the development of anticipatory, protective and accountable approaches to crisis response.
