Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Data Engineer to join our dynamic team at Moniepoint Incorporated. As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure to support our rapidly growing business. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to build scalable and reliable data pipelines, optimize data workflows, and drive insights to inform strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and deploy robust and scalable data pipelines to ingest, process, and analyze large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources including transactional databases, APIs, and third-party data providers.
• Data Modeling: Design and implement efficient data models and schemas to support analytical and reporting requirements. Optimize data storage and retrieval for performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Data Integration: Integrate data from disparate sources and systems to create a unified view of the business. Implement data transformation and cleansing processes to ensure data quality and consistency.
• Performance Optimization: Identify and address performance bottlenecks in data processing and storage. Implement optimizations to improve query performance, reduce latency, and enhance overall system efficiency.
• Monitoring and Maintenance: Implement robust monitoring and alerting systems to ensure data pipeline reliability and uptime. Proactively identify and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and data loss.
• Security and Compliance: Implement data security best practices and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards such as GDPR and PCI-DSS. Implement data encryption, access controls, and auditing mechanisms to protect sensitive data.
• Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Data Scientists, Business Analysts, and Software Engineers to understand data requirements and deliver data-driven solutions that address business needs.
• Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Document data infrastructure, workflows, and processes. Share knowledge and best practices with team members to foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in data engineering and analytics.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Strong experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and HBase.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and associated services like S3, EMR, and Redshift.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases, and experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
