Job Description

Delonjobs is looking to hire a Head, Information technology for a leading insurance company in Lagos, Nigeria. The ideal candidate would be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our technology infrastructure to support our business objectives, ensuring the seamless operation and security of our IT systems, and responsible for IT infrastructure and Operations, Networking, Telecommunications, and Service Delivery (Administration, Vendor Management, and Service Delivery). Interested candidates must possess a minimum of a first degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a relevant field and a minimum of 7 years of experience in IT management, preferably in the financial services industry. Job Responsibilities
 Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality IT services. 

 Implement IT policies and systems, in line with the strategic direction set by the CIO. 

 Manage the IT budget, resource allocation, and operational planning. 

 Lead the IT team, including recruitment, training, and professional development. 

 Ensure the security and integrity of IT infrastructure, data, and systems. 

Collaborate with the CIO to develop and maintain the IT strategic plan. 

Coordinate with various departments to ensure IT systems meet business needs. 

Oversee the maintenance, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, telephones, software applications, and peripherals. 

Provide detailed reports to the CIO on the department’s progress and challenges. 

Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for IT services and equipment.

Stay abreast of technology trends and developments, advising the CIO on potential impacts and opportunities for the business. 

Plan and oversee projects to improve or replace IT systems. 

Monitor IT systems performance and implement improvements where necessary.

 

Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or equivalent applied experience. 

Any relevant professional qualifications across the various IT domains.

 

Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of IT operations, infrastructure, and service delivery  

Demonstrated capability to manage IT operations for multiple operating entities. 

Excellent strategic planning and problem-solving skills. 

Strong project management and organizational abilities. 

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
