Experience
Minimum of 4 – 6 years of working experience in a similarrole or as an assistant Head Teacher/Administrator.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the internal organisation, management andcontrol of the school.
- Frequent consultation where appropriate with the schoolauthority, the governing body (Ministry of Education & Exam body), thestaff of the school, the pupils, their parents and the local community.
- Identify and fill up vacant roles for both teaching andnon-teaching staffs.
- Management of staff – allocation of duties, ensure staffsare up to date in teaching and learning resources, identifying and challenging underperformanceat all levels and putting in place effective procedures to deal withunderperforming staff.
- Curriculum & Learning – Determining, organizing, andimplementing a broad and balanced curriculum for the school having regards tothe needs and stages of development of the pupils.
- Pupils – Ensuring that the progress of pupils is monitoredand recorded, ensuring continuing effective systems of planning, assessment,recording and reporting using date and benchmarks to monitor attainment andprogress in every child’s learning.
- Feedback – Ensuring adequate feedback is given to parents onprogress of their wards, regular information about the school and itsactivities, etc.
- Continuous review of all aspects of school performance –standards of teaching & learning, school environment, pupils, etc.
- Set key objectives for members of staffs and appraisal of theperformance of teachers.
- Discipline – Ensuring proper standards of behaviour are implementedat all levels and known within the school and outside of the school (pupils areengaged in offsite school activities).
- Relations with Governing body – Registration of Basic Pupilsfor external examinations, Liaising with the Ministry of education for allrequired documents and payments.
- Ensure proper school maintenance of all its resources andassets.
