Job Description

DelonJobs is seeking to hire an HSE Manager for a construction company in Lagos, Nigeria who will play a crucial role in ensuring that all construction activities are carried out in compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. You will be responsible for developing and implementing HSE policies, conducting regular inspections and audits, and providing training and guidance to employees.

Candidate must have minimum of 8 years of experience in HSE management, preferably in the construction industry.

Salary Range: N500,000 to 600,000

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with local regulations and industry standards.

• Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with HSE standards.

• Conduct Toolbox meetings/Safety briefings.

• Provide HSE training programs for employees, contractors, and subcontractors to promote a strong safety culture.

• Carry out PPE Audits on site to ensure compliance to Permit of Work (PTW) conditions/work instructions.

• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and implement corrective and preventive measures to avoid recurrence.

• Monitor and evaluate HSE performance metrics, prepare reports, and recommend improvements to management.

• Coordinate with project manager, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate HSE requirements into project planning and execution.

• Manage HSE documentation, including permits, licenses, certifications, and records of training and inspections.

Qualifications:

• Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent.

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in HSE management, preferably in the construction industry.

• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

• Team player with the ability to work independently.

• Good communication skills, both written and oral.

Familiarity with Niger-Delta community would be an added advantage.
