Position Overview:

We are currently seeking diligent and reliable Janitors to join our team at The Place. As a Janitor, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and orderliness throughout our facilities, including dining areas, restrooms, kitchens, and common areas. You will work collaboratively with our housekeeping team to uphold our high standards of cleanliness and provide a positive experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Cleaning and Sanitizing: Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting to keep floors, surfaces, and fixtures clean and free of debris. Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors, to maintain hygiene and prevent the spread of germs and bacteria.
  2. Waste Management: Collect, segregate, and dispose of waste and recyclable materials in designated bins and containers. Empty trash receptacles, replace liners, and ensure proper disposal of garbage according to established procedures and sanitation guidelines.
  3. Surface Disinfection: Use approved cleaning agents and disinfectants to sanitize high-touch surfaces, including door handles, handrails, tables, chairs, and countertops. Follow safety protocols and manufacturer instructions to ensure effective disinfection and prevent contamination.
  4. Restocking Supplies: Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, toiletries, and amenities, and replenish as needed. Stock restroom supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels to ensure availability for guests and staff.
  5. Floor Care: Sweep, mop, and polish floors using appropriate cleaning tools and techniques. Vacuum carpets and rugs to remove dirt, debris, and stains. Spot-clean spills and stains promptly to prevent accidents and maintain a clean appearance.
  6. Kitchen Maintenance: Assist kitchen staff in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in food preparation areas, storage areas, and equipment. Clean kitchen surfaces, appliances, and utensils to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety and hygiene.
  7. Light Maintenance: Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed, such as changing light bulbs, replacing air fresheners, and repairing minor plumbing issues. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor for resolution.
  8. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with housekeeping staff, supervisors, and other team members to coordinate cleaning schedules, tasks, and priorities. Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of duties.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in janitorial, housekeeping, or cleaning roles preferred.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation practices, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions effectively.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform cleaning tasks and lift heavy objects.
  • Attention to detail, thoroughness, and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
