Job Description

Oduduwa university, Idimu is hiring a Lecturer of Computer Science in Osun state, Nigeria. The ideal candidate would be responsible for Preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, workshops, and seminars and developing course material and curricula, inspiring meaningful discussions, attending conferences, consulting with other academics and professionals, supervising graduate students, grading assignments, and being an active member of the university. Job Responsibilities

  • Putting together and giving seminars, workshops, tutorials, and lectures.
  • Creating course materials and curricula that are compatible with several platforms.
  • Working together with lecturers and other academics to enhance instruction and broaden one's knowledge base.
  • Establishing and grading homework, assessments, and exams.
  • Carrying out research and penning books, journal articles, proposals, and papers.
  • Taking part in and attending conferences, meetings, and other events both inside and outside the organization.
  • Taking part in the institution's training programs and projects.
  • Aid coworkers and pupils.
  • Keeping up with current events through extensive reading and published research in the topic.
  • One to one advice on pieces of work
  • Lecture/seminar planning
  • Marking assessed work
  • Attending planning meetings to ensure cross departmental parity
  • Undertaking research projects
  • Administration tasks (e.g. admissions tutor) within the department
  • Supervising PhD students and research staff
  • Managing research budgets
  • Preparing bids for funding for departmental research projects.
  • Participating in training opportunities and initiatives at the institution

Job Requirements

  • A Ph.D. in the relevant discipline.
  • One year experience in teaching
  • Previous teaching experience.
  • Published work would be advantageous.
  • Ability to inspire students with your passion.
  • Flexibility, resilience, and willingness to work long hours.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Expertise in chosen field of study, with ability to engage students in critical thinking.
  • Must have at least 6 publications in national & international journals.
  • Candidates are expected to possess relevant teaching, research & administrative experience.
  • Possess the ability to prioritize and accurately complete tasks, work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Affiliation with a Professional body
  • Must be adept in the use of MS Office Packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Well-developed interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to contribute to the achievement of the Institution’s Development Plan and the institution’s strategic planning processes.
  • Advance, HE Fellowship (FHEA).
