Position Overview: The Network Solution and Security Engineer role at Ecobank is a critical position responsible for designing, implementing, and managing network solutions and security measures to protect the bank's IT infrastructure and assets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network engineering, cybersecurity, and risk management, with expertise in designing and deploying secure network architectures, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security technologies. As a Network Solution and Security Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and resilience of Ecobank's network infrastructure while mitigating cyber threats and vulnerabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Network Infrastructure Design and Implementation:

   • Design and deploy scalable, reliable, and secure network architectures to support Ecobank's business operations and digital banking services.
   • Evaluate network requirements, assess technical feasibility, and develop solutions that meet business objectives while adhering to industry standards and best practices.
   • Implement networking technologies such as routers, switches, load balancers, VPNs, and SD-WAN to optimize network performance and ensure seamless connectivity across geographically dispersed locations.

2. Security Solutions Deployment:

   • Deploy and configure security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), web application firewalls (WAF), and endpoint protection platforms (EPP), to defend against cyber threats and unauthorized access.
   • Implement access control policies, security configurations, and encryption mechanisms to protect sensitive data, systems, and applications from security breaches and cyber attacks.
   • Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify security gaps, assess risk levels, and recommend remediation measures to enhance the security posture of Ecobank's network infrastructure.

3. Incident Response and Risk Management:

   • Develop and maintain incident response plans, playbooks, and procedures to facilitate timely detection, analysis, and resolution of security incidents and breaches.
   • Lead incident response activities, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and implement corrective actions to minimize the impact of security incidents and restore normal operations.
   • Conduct risk assessments, threat modeling, and security audits to identify, prioritize, and mitigate security risks and compliance gaps across Ecobank's network environment.

4. Security Awareness and Training:

   • Promote security awareness and best practices among Ecobank employees, stakeholders, and customers through training sessions, workshops, and educational materials.
   • Provide guidance and support to end users on cybersecurity topics, such as password management, phishing awareness, and safe computing practices, to reduce the risk of human error and insider threats.

5. Technology Evaluation and Integration:

   • Research and evaluate emerging security technologies, tools, and methodologies to stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in cybersecurity.
   • Collaborate with technology vendors, service providers, and internal stakeholders to assess the suitability, compatibility, and effectiveness of security solutions and integrations with Ecobank's network infrastructure.

6. Compliance and Regulatory Compliance:

   • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies related to information security, data privacy, and risk management.
   • Support regulatory audits, certification assessments, and compliance reporting efforts to demonstrate adherence to security standards and regulatory obligations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNP, CEH) is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, cybersecurity, or related roles, with a focus on designing, implementing, and managing network security solutions.
• Proficiency in network technologies and protocols, including TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, MPLS, BGP, and OSPF.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat landscape, attack vectors, and security controls.
• Hands-on experience with security technologies, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, and endpoint security solutions.
• Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
