Background 
MarketShare Associates (MSA) is conducting customer research for a project with operations in 5 African countries and requires the services of one Qualitative Researcher in each country to conduct primary data collection.

Description of the Role 

Position title: Qualitative Researcher 

Location: Based in Uganda, Nigeria, or Morocco

Starting December 2021 and supporting us part-time with intermittent inputs until approximately February 2022

Approximate level of effort: Approximately 25–38 days of inputs

Open to qualified individuals or firms 

Key Tasks

• Plan qualitative data collection, in collaboration with Senior Researcher
• Conduct customer and user interviews, tentatively in-person, but subject to change based on COVID-19 conditions (approximately Transcription and translation of data collected 

 This position will require travel within the country of study. 

Necessary Requirements 

1. Minimum of 5 years professional experience conducting qualitative research and data collection related to finance, economics, and business

1. Owns a smart phone and computer, and has a strong internet connection both during the day and in the evening  
2. Ability to communicate professionally via email and phone  
3. Can be regularly available  
4. Able to use Spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets) to enter and organize information  
5. Fluency in English, and proficiency in local languages
