Grove Crane Operator (GCO0126)

About the Role

• We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Grove Crane Operator to join our operations team in Apapa. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Grove mobile cranes for lifting, moving, and positioning heavy materials and equipment while adhering to all safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Grove mobile cranes safely and efficiently in accordance with company policies and industry regulations.
• Perform pre-operation inspections and routine checks on crane equipment.
• Lift, move, position, and place heavy loads as directed.
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, load charts, and lifting plans.
• Coordinate with riggers, supervisors, and site personnel during lifting operations.
• Report equipment defects, maintenance requirements, and safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of crane operations and inspections.
• Ensure proper care and housekeeping of assigned equipment.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent qualification.
• Valid Crane Operator Certification or License.
• Must have 3–5 years of proven experience operating Grove mobile cranes.
• Strong understanding of lifting operations, load calculations, and crane safety procedures.
• Experience working in industrial, warehouse, manufacturing, construction, or steel production environments.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain high safety standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience handling steel products, heavy machinery, and industrial materials.
• Additional certifications in lifting operations, rigging, or HSE will be an added advantage.
