Job Description

Job Summary

  • The Lead Well Intervention Engineer will oversee and coordinate well intervention and related field operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery across projects.
  • The role requires a technically experienced professional with strong practical knowledge of oil well operations, including well intervention, drilling, completion, or related oilfield activities.
  • The successful candidate will serve as the technical lead on projects and supervise adhoc field personnel and operational crews during execution.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership:

  • Lead and supervise well intervention and oilfield operations across project locations
  • Coordinate field activities to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and compliance
  • Serve as the technical lead during project planning and execution.

Technical Oversight:

  • Provide technical guidance on well operations, intervention processes, and troubleshooting
  • Interpret operational requirements and ensure appropriate execution strategies
  • Monitor equipment usage, operational performance, and service quality.

Team Supervision:

  • Supervise and coordinate adhoc technical crews and field workers during operations
  • Ensure all personnel understand operational procedures and safety expectations
  • Support training and mentoring of junior and temporary field personnel.

Health, Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure strict compliance with HSE standards and operational procedures
  • Conduct pre-job safety briefings and operational risk assessments
  • Report operational incidents, challenges, and field observations appropriately.

Client & Project Coordination:

  • Liaise with clients, vendors, and project stakeholders during operations
  • Provide operational updates, technical reports, and post-job feedback
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects and effective field coordination.

Requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Engineering or related technical discipline
  • 5 - 8 years’ experience in oil & gas operations
  • Strong practical experience in:
    • Well intervention
    • Drilling operations
    • Well services
    • Oil well operations
    • Fishing tools/services (added advantage)
  • Proven experience leading field teams and supervising operations
  • Strong understanding of oilfield safety standards and operational procedures
  • Ability to work under pressure and in field-based environments.
