Job Description

Role Summary

pcl. is entering a new strategic chapter — pcl. 4.0. Central to this is a sharpened Transformation Pillar with three distinct practice areas: Strategy & Operating Model, Process & Digital Transformation, and People, Culture & Workforce. This role sits at the heart of the Process, Service & Digital Transformation practice as a senior delivery professional.

The Managing Consultant will be a primary driver of how pcl. helps our clients redesign broken processes, automate manual workflows, embed AI into operations, and build the digital architecture suitable to compete in a modern economy. This also sometimes requires a compliance audit — it is a forward-looking, client-facing delivery role for someone who is as comfortable in the boardroom as they are in shaping a digital process architecture.

The successful candidate will be a credible, technically-grounded consulting professional who can lead complex engagements end-to-end, develop the consultants around them, and contribute meaningfully to pcl.'s growing reputation as a digital transformation partner for Nigerian organisations.

Responsibilities

1.  Digital Process Consulting & Automation

  • Lead client engagements focused on process diagnostics, re-engineering and end-to-end redesign, also identifying inefficiencies and designing leaner, faster, digital-first workflows.
  • Design and oversee the implementation of workflow automation solutions using tools such as Microsoft Power Automate, Zapier, Zoho Creator, or comparable low-code/no-code platforms.
  • Embed AI-powered capabilities into client operating processes, from intelligent document processing and decision automation to predictive analytics and AI-assisted service delivery.
  • Lead digital maturity assessments and define target digital operating states for clients across private sector, public sector, and financial services contexts.
  • Deliver digital transformation roadmaps that sequence process, technology and people changes into an executable, phased programme of work.

2.  Digital Architecture & Systems Design

  • Design and validate scalable digital architectures that connect client workflows, data systems, platforms and reporting aligned to the client's business strategy and IT landscape.
  • Lead or support the selection and deployment of digital tools, including ERP integrations, PMO tools, CRM platforms, citizen journey systems and data dashboards.
  • Advise clients on data governance frameworks and help them establish the reporting structures and analytics infrastructure needed to run a data-driven organisation.
  • Oversee the development of reusable digital products and IP within the practice — templates, toolkits, automation blueprints — that accelerate delivery across pcl. engagements.

3.  Service & Process Redesign

  • Lead end-to-end service redesign projects — from stakeholder discovery and current-state mapping through to future-state design, piloting and scaled implementation.
  • Apply human-centred and lean methodologies to simplify service delivery, reduce cost and improve the experience of customers, citizens or employees.
  • Embed digital adoption support into process change: helping clients design training, governance and change management that makes digital tools stick.
  • Support the development and delivery of data governance and analytics frameworks as part of broader transformation engagements.

4.  Information Security & GRC Compliance

  • Implement and conduct assessments on ISO 27001, ISO 22301, NDPR, PCIDSS/SSF, etc., and related compliance workstreams.
  • Integrate security-by-design and data governance principles into digital architectures and process redesign outputs.
  • Work collaboratively with specialists on the team who hold deep GRC and cybersecurity expertise.

5.  Collaboration & Commercial Awareness

  • Work closely with the Client Value Engine and practice leadership to support scoping, proposal input, and engagement design for new transformation mandates — providing subject matter expertise and realistic effort estimates.
  • Maintain strong client relationships throughout delivery — ensuring the quality of work deepens trust and creates the conditions for continued engagement.
  • Represent pcl.'s transformation capabilities credibly in client conversations and contribute to thought leadership that raises the practice's profile.

6.  Team Contribution & Knowledge Building

  • Manage and mentor consultants and analysts on engagements — setting quality standards, reviewing deliverables and supporting their development.
  • Champion stronger technical and methodological practice within the team — helping shift the team's centre of gravity toward digital process consulting.
  • Collaborate across practice areas — working with colleagues in Strategy & Operating Model and People, Culture & Workforce to ensure integrated delivery.
  • Contribute to the firm's knowledge assets — developing frameworks, case studies and reusable methodology components that raise pcl.'s collective capability.

Requirements

Requirements

We are looking for a practitioner with depth, intellectual rigour and genuine passion for digital transformation — someone who has seen what great consulting looks like and is ready to deliver it.

You will likely have:

  • 10–14 years of experience, with a meaningful portion spent in management consulting, professional services, or digital transformation advisory.
  • Demonstrated experience leading digital or process transformation engagements — from scoping through delivery — for medium to large organisations.
  • Hands-on knowledge of process automation tools, workflow platforms, and/or AI-enabled solution design (not just theoretical familiarity).
  • Experience designing or advising on digital architectures, systems integration, or enterprise technology strategy.
  • Strong consulting fundamentals: structured problem-solving, executive communication, stakeholder management, and the ability to turn complexity into clear recommendations.
  • A track record of developing and managing consulting teams, including giving feedback, coaching junior staff, and maintaining delivery quality at scale.
  • Grounded in information security and GRC frameworks (PCIDSS, ISO 27001, NDPR, etc.) — capable of conducting security assessments and integrating security thinking into transformation work
  • Familiarity with the Nigerian and broader West African business environment — you understand the operating context our clients face.

You will stand out if you have:

  • Experience deploying AI-powered tools into client business processes (document intelligence, predictive analytics, chatbots, automated decisioning).
  • A background that bridges business consulting and digital/technology delivery — you are not purely one or the other.
  • Experience working with or pitching to mid-market and growth-stage Nigerian businesses — pcl.'s primary target segment under pcl. 4.0.
  • Led the development of reusable consulting IP, products or frameworks.
  • Exposure to the public sector or financial services in a transformation context.
