Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Operations Ownership

  • Oversee end-to-end operations across:
  • Production (pastry and chocolate)
  • Order management and fulfilment
  • Customer experience
  • Ensure smooth, efficient daily execution without founder dependence
  • Ensure the business is fully ready to scale into retail

Systems & Process Development

  • Design and implement:
  • SOPs across all operational areas
  • Clear workflows and accountability structures
  • Introduce systems for:
  • Inventory management
  • Production planning
  • Order tracking
  • Performance management
  • Other departments as may be required

Team Leadership & Structure

  • Lead, manage, and develop a growing team
  • Build a strong internal structure with clear roles and reporting lines
  • Drive accountability, discipline, and performance

Financial & Operational Efficiency

  • Monitor and improve:
  • Cost of production
  • Waste reduction
  • Pricing efficiency
  • Margins
  • Ensure the business runs profitably and sustainably

Supply Chain & Inventory

  • Oversee sourcing of ingredients and materials
  • Manage vendor relationships
  • Ensure elimination of stockouts, overstocking, and inefficiencies

Customer Experience & Brand Standards

  • Ensure consistent premium quality across:
  • Products
  • Packaging
  • Customer service

Reporting & Founder Alignment

  • Provide weekly performance reports and insights
  • Act as the Founder’s operational partner and execution lead

Requirements

Requirements

  • A degree in Business, Hospitality, Operations or a related field is preferred. However, candidates with strong, proven operational experience are strongly encouraged to apply
  • At least 4 years experience in Hospitality, Food & Beverage, Retail operations, or a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Proven ability to build or improve operational systems, manage and lead teams, and drive performance and efficiency
  • Strong leadership and accountability
  • Systems thinking and operational discipline
  • Commercial and financial awareness
  • Problem-solving and decision-making ability
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays
