Job Overview:

As an AWS Architect at TalentUp Africa, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the cloud infrastructure landscape for our clients. Leveraging your expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will design, implement, and optimize cloud-based solutions tailored to the unique needs of our clients. The ideal candidate is not only proficient in AWS services but also possesses strong problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and excellent communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cloud Solution Architecture:
• Design, implement, and manage scalable and cost-effective cloud solutions on the AWS platform.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their business requirements and translate them into robust cloud architectures.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
• Implement Infrastructure as Code practices using tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation to automate the provisioning of resources.
• Create reusable templates for infrastructure deployment to enhance efficiency.
• Security and Compliance:
• Develop and implement robust security measures for cloud architectures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Conduct regular security audits and assessments, addressing vulnerabilities and ensuring data protection.
• Migration and Optimization:
• Lead migration projects to move on-premises applications and workloads to AWS.
• Optimize existing cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and scalability.
• Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD):
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployment and testing.
• Ensure seamless integration between development and production environments.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
• Implement monitoring solutions to track the performance and health of cloud resources.
• Proactively troubleshoot issues and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
• Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
• Collaborate with development teams, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders to align cloud solutions with business objectives.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Cost Management:
• Implement cost management practices to optimize AWS usage and reduce unnecessary expenses.
• Provide recommendations for cost-effective solutions while maintaining performance.
• Documentation:
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for architecture, configurations, and best practices.
• Ensure documentation is accessible and up to date for the benefit of the team and clients.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an AWS Architect with a strong portfolio of successful cloud implementations.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification is highly desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, and others.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Shell for automation tasks.
• Strong understanding of networking principles, security protocols, and best practices.
• Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
