Job Description

DelonJobs is seeking to hire a Chief Accountant for a leading engineering company in Nigeria who will supervise and manage accounting personnel both at the head office and on various sites, prepare monthly management and expense accounts, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements, offer insights to management regarding the financial status and performance of the organization and execute budgeting, costing, and daily accounting activities, with proficiency in SAGE software. The candidate should have should have a bachelor's degree in finance or accounting and 10 years experience in a financial or accounting role. Monthly gross salary is N500,000.

Duties/Responsibilities
•    Supervise and manage accounting personnel both at the head office and on various sites.
•    Prepare monthly management and expense accounts, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements.
•    Offer insights to management regarding the financial status and performance of the organization.
•    Execute budgeting, costing, and daily accounting activities, with proficiency in SAGE software preferred.
•    Ensure adherence to the organization’s due process for all required documentation, overseeing their collection and compilation.
•    Review payroll, project costing, and monitoring procedures.
•    Enforce adherence to established protocols by all accounting staff.
•    Provide management with recommendations on funding sources, payment plans, and banking options.
•    Ensure compliance with all Nigerian regulations and laws within the finance department.
•       Familiarity with Oil & Gas industry-specific standards, regulations, and compliance requirements.
•    Collaborate with statutory bodies such as the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Pension Fund Administrators, etc., to fulfill all statutory obligations.
•    Facilitate the coordination of the annual statutory audit.
•    Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and prospective stakeholders, including banks, auditors, suppliers, and governmental entities.

Experience:
•      Minimum of 10 years experience in a financial or accounting role, preferably within the construction sector.

Qualification:
•    Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is required.
•    Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in Finance or Accounting and Chartered Accountant certification from Nigeria.
