Job Overview:
As a Fabrication Manager at International Logistics, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the fabrication processes crucial to our logistics and supply chain operations. The Fabrication Manager will be responsible for managing a team of skilled fabricators, ensuring the production of high-quality components and structures for our logistics facilities. Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of fabricators, welders, and other production staff.
- Foster a collaborative and safety-conscious work environment.
- Production Planning:
- Develop and implement production schedules to meet project deadlines and client requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers to align fabrication timelines with overall project timelines.
- Quality Control:
- Establish and enforce quality control measures to ensure the production of high-quality fabricated components and structures.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address quality issues.
- Process Optimization:
- Continuously assess and optimize fabrication processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall productivity.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles where applicable.
- Material Management:
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and supplies.
- Manage inventory levels and minimize waste through efficient material utilization.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of fabrication equipment and machinery.
- Schedule routine maintenance to prevent unplanned downtime.
- Health and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and implement safety protocols.
- Conduct safety training for fabrication staff and promote a culture of safety.
- Budget Management:
- Work closely with the finance department to manage the fabrication budget.
- Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and report on budget performance.
- Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of fabricated components into larger logistics projects.
- Provide regular updates on fabrication progress to project teams.
- Communication:
- Maintain clear and effective communication with all relevant stakeholders, including project teams, management, and fabrication staff.

- Continuous Improvement:

Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in fabrication management, preferably in a logistics or manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, including welding, cutting, and assembly.
