Job Overview: We are seeking a talented and motivated ICT Officer to join our dynamic team. The ICT Officer will be responsible for managing and maintaining our information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of our systems, and providing technical support to our staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ICT, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for leveraging technology to enhance organizational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. ICT Infrastructure Management: Manage and maintain the organization's ICT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, servers, and telecommunications systems.

  2. Technical Support: Provide technical support to staff members on ICT-related issues, troubleshoot problems, and resolve issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.

  3. System Administration: Administer and configure systems, databases, and applications, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.

  4. Network Security: Implement and maintain security measures to protect the organization's ICT systems and data from cyber threats, viruses, malware, and unauthorized access.

  5. ICT Procurement: Assist in the procurement of ICT equipment, software, and services, including conducting vendor evaluations, negotiating contracts, and managing vendor relationships.

  6. User Training: Develop and deliver training sessions to staff members on ICT tools, software applications, and best practices to enhance their digital literacy and productivity.

  7. IT Policy Development: Develop and implement ICT policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices.

  8. System Upgrades and Maintenance: Coordinate and execute system upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and maximum system uptime.

  9. Backup and Disaster Recovery: Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions to safeguard critical data and ensure business continuity in the event of system failures or disasters.

  10. ICT Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of ICT systems, configurations, processes, and procedures to support knowledge sharing and troubleshooting efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in ICT management, system administration, and technical support roles.
  • Strong knowledge of ICT infrastructure, networking, security, and system architecture.
  • Proficiency in operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux), hardware, software, and ITIL practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex ICT issues.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or MCSE are an advantage.
