Position Overview:

We are currently seeking dedicated and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Cashiers at The Place. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for processing sales transactions, handling cash and credit card payments, and providing friendly and efficient service to our guests. You will work closely with our front-of-house team to ensure a positive dining experience for our customers and contribute to the overall success of our restaurant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Point-of-Sale Operations: Operate cash registers and POS systems to process sales transactions accurately and efficiently. Ring up purchases, calculate totals, and accept payments from customers using cash, credit cards, debit cards, or mobile payment apps.
  2. Payment Handling: Count and reconcile cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure accuracy and accountability. Handle cash, coins, and checks securely and follow established procedures for cash handling and reconciliation.
  3. Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, answer inquiries, and provide assistance with menu selections, promotions, and special offers. Process orders promptly and accurately, ensuring that customers receive the correct items and quantities.
  4. Order Processing: Input orders into the POS system, verify pricing and discounts, and generate order receipts for customers. Coordinate with kitchen and service staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders to customers.
  5. Upselling and Cross-Selling: Suggest additional items, upgrades, or add-ons to enhance the customer's dining experience and increase sales revenue. Promote special menu items, promotions, and loyalty programs to drive customer engagement and repeat business.
  6. Menu Knowledge: Familiarize yourself with the restaurant menu, including food and beverage offerings, prices, and ingredients. Be prepared to answer questions and provide recommendations to customers based on their preferences and dietary restrictions.
  7. Order Accuracy: Double-check orders for accuracy and completeness before finalizing transactions. Verify items, quantities, and prices to ensure that customers receive the correct items and are charged accurately.
  8. Customer Feedback: Solicit feedback from customers on their dining experience, listen to their concerns or suggestions, and address any issues or complaints promptly and professionally. Notify management of any recurring issues or trends to facilitate improvements in service quality.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience as a Cashier, Retail Sales Associate, or Customer Service Representative preferred.
  • Strong numerical aptitude and proficiency in basic math calculations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency in processing transactions.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
