Job Description

DelonJobs is seeking to hire a Marketing and Communications Associate who will develop and execute an annual comprehensive marketing and advertising activities plan to support strategic activities, investor relations and key programs. The plan will include media relations, social media management, content strategy and management, external publications, management of all websites, and marketing activities. Monthly salary is between N200,000 – N250,000. Candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree Marketing, advertising, public relations or communications or related field with minimum of 2 years experience in marketing. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Work closely with colleagues of relevant departments and/or external partners to develop marketing collateral and contents as it relates to the brand strategy.
  • Write technology and digital related content to be published as part of the company’s public relations strategy.
  • Coordinate website and blog maintenance – ensure that new and consistent information (article links, stories, and events) are posted regularly. 
  • Create content to drive engagement across all the various social media platforms for the company. 
  • Assist with delivering and executing campaigns and launches in the relevant areas of the business as the need arises.
  • Ensure our brand message is strong and consistent across all channels and marketing efforts (like events, email campaigns, web pages and promotional material). 
  • Analyse consumer behavior and determine customer personas.
  • Collaborate with service delivery to resolve all customer issues that come in through marketing channels such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. 
  • Monitor competition (acquisitions, pricing changes and new products and features). 
  • Assist with quarterly and annual planning of company objectives.
  • Create content to drive acquisition and retention across all customer touch points. 
  • Increase the company’s brand awareness across all media platforms, by planning and monitoring social media accounts, managing physical and digital brand appearance.
  • Monitor relevant related media coverage and better leverage news and trends to advance the company’s priorities.
  • Support sales and marketing efforts to boost brand awareness. 
  • Assist with end to end relations with the press including writing of press releases, answering interview questions and scheduling PR activities. 
  • Support the creation of all collateral materials for events and programs. 
  • Serve as media contact for the business.
  •  Work with the relevant team to continuously develop and improve stakeholder-relations.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Extensive knowledge of the African and global tech ecosystem.
  • Strong technical and creative writing skills. 
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills 
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently and prioritise work.
  • Outstanding and compelling communication and presentation skills. 
  • Possess search engines, web analytics, and business research tools acumen 
  • Adequate knowledge of data collection methods (polls, focus groups, surveys etc.)
  • Excellent technology skills, including experience working with CRMs, Mailchimp, graphic design software, publishing, web software (WordPress), and all social media platforms. 
  • Solid computer skills, including MS Excel, web analytics and Google AdWords. 
  • Exceptional knowledge of statistical packages (SPSS, SAS or similar), databases and MS Office. 
  • Proficiency with SEO/SEM campaigns
