Job Description

DelonJobs is seeking to hire a Risk Officer for a leading financial institution in Nigeria. The individual would be responsible for ensuring the Bank’s portfolio meet quality standards set by Executive Magement and Board. Interested candidates must possess a Bachelors degree in any discipline and a minimum of 6 years post qualification experience in risk management within the Financial Services Industry, of which at least 3 must have been in the Banking Sector.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the NPL ratio of commercial Bank loans does not exceed limits set by Executive Mgt.
• Review and disbursement of commercial Bank loans
• Ensure proper loan management by attending to all request on loans already running i.e… Liquidation request, loan terms modifications, outstanding balance inquires, etc.
• Proper documentation and filling of security document
• Reviewing /analyzing approvals to ensure that same is in consonance with Bank’s credit policy and if signed off by appropriate officers according to their approval limits.
• Regular review of all limits maintained on the system.
• Model credit behavior for categories of customers with aim of predicting future portfolio position.
• Forecast portfolio-wide credit losses based on historical credit data and contemporary credit issues.
• Institute systems and processes to facilitate portfolio risk-reward optimization.
• Work closely with legal to ensure precedents for facility documentation are in line with best practice.
• Perform other functions as delegated by the Group Head, Risk Management

• Credit Administration
• Risk Management
• Credit Analysis and Appraisal
• Loans administration / account management
• Credit Workout/Restructuring
• Financial analysis / interpretation
• A good first degree in any discipline
• Minimum of 6 years post qualification experience in risk management within the Financial Services
• Industry, of which at least 3 must have been in the Banking Sector
• M.Sc. is an added advantage.
• Recognized professional certification such as CFA, CIS, ACCA, ACA, CFP, IT Certifications, etc. is an added advantage.
