Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Computer Engineering Lecturer to join our esteemed academic community at Bells University of Technology. As a Computer Engineering Faculty Member, you will contribute to the academic and research activities of the Department of Computer Engineering, imparting knowledge, and skills to students, conducting innovative research, and contributing to the advancement of the field of computer engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Teaching and Instruction: Develop and deliver high-quality lectures, seminars, and laboratory sessions in computer engineering courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Design and update course materials, including syllabi, lecture notes, assignments, and assessments, to ensure alignment with program objectives and academic standards.
  2. Curriculum Development: Participate in the development and revision of curriculum and course offerings in computer engineering to reflect advances in technology, industry trends, and academic research. Integrate theoretical concepts with practical applications and real-world examples to enhance student learning and engagement.
  3. Student Supervision and Mentoring: Provide academic guidance, mentorship, and support to students pursuing degrees in computer engineering. Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, theses, and dissertations, guiding students in conducting independent research and scholarly activities.
  4. Research and Scholarship: Conduct original research and scholarly activities in the field of computer engineering, with a focus on advancing knowledge, solving practical problems, and contributing to academic discourse. Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals, conference proceedings, and other scholarly outlets to disseminate knowledge and contribute to the academic community.
  5. Collaboration and Networking: Collaborate with colleagues, industry partners, and research institutions to pursue interdisciplinary research projects, secure research funding, and engage in collaborative initiatives. Build and maintain professional networks and partnerships to enhance research opportunities and academic collaborations.
  6. Professional Development: Stay abreast of developments, trends, and best practices in computer engineering, technology, and education. Attend conferences, workshops, and professional development programs to enhance teaching effectiveness, research productivity, and professional growth.
  7. Community Engagement: Engage with the local community, industry stakeholders, and professional organizations to promote awareness of computer engineering, technology education, and STEM initiatives. Participate in outreach activities, workshops, and educational programs to inspire and mentor the next generation of engineers and technologists.
  8. Service and Administration: Contribute to departmental and institutional activities through committee service, academic administration, and leadership roles. Participate in accreditation processes, program reviews, and quality assurance initiatives to uphold academic standards and institutional excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from a reputable institution. Candidates with a master's degree and significant professional experience may also be considered.
  • Demonstrated expertise in computer engineering theory, principles, and practice, with a focus on areas such as digital systems, embedded systems, computer architecture, hardware design, software engineering, and cybersecurity.
  • Strong teaching skills and a passion for education, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and engage students in active learning.
  • Active research agenda with a record of scholarly publications, research grants, and contributions to the field of computer engineering. Evidence of research productivity, impact, and relevance to industry or society.
  • Experience with laboratory instruction, project-based learning, and hands-on activities in computer engineering education.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., C/C++, Java, Python), software tools (e.g., MATLAB, LabVIEW), and hardware platforms (e.g., FPGA, microcontrollers).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and stakeholders.
