KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and manage the overall operations of the restaurant, including front-of-house and back-of-house functions, to ensure seamless daily functioning.
- Recruit, train, and manage restaurant staff, including waitstaff, kitchen staff, and support teams. Provide coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained and consistently improved upon. Address customer concerns and feedback promptly and professionally.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering and maintaining supplies, managing food and beverage inventory, and minimizing waste.
- Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation, and consistency. Implement quality control measures and address any issues promptly.
- Develop and manage budgets, track expenses, and optimize cost-effective operations while maintaining service quality.
- Create and manage staff schedules, taking into consideration peak business hours and labour cost control.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and sanitation guidelines. Conduct regular inspections and training.
- Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors, negotiate contracts, and monitor supplier performance.
- Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to develop and update menus, including seasonal offerings and special promotions.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to execute promotional campaigns and marketing initiatives to attract and retain customers.
- Oversee maintenance and cleanliness of the restaurant, including equipment, furnishings, and physical facilities.
- Analyze operational data, such as sales reports, customer feedback, and staff performance, to make informed decisions and improvements.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Minimum of 5 years proven experience in restaurant management or a similar role, including leadership and team management responsibilities.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, including food service, kitchen management, and customer service.
- Budgeting and financial management skills.
- Proficiency in computer software for inventory management, scheduling, and data analysis.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
