Farm Manager Wanted
We are seeking an experienced farm manager to oversee daily operations of our diversified farm focusing on yams, tomatoes, maize, peppers, and piggery in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. This is a full-time residential position requiring the manager to live on the farm with full hands-on involvement.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily farming operations for all crops and livestock
- Establish planting schedules, irrigation, fertilization, and pest control
- Introduce best practices for maximizing yields
- Supervise farm workers and provide training
- Manage piggery development and operations including feeding schedules, breeding, and health monitoring
- Develop and maintain off-taker relationships/sales channels
- Monitor produce quality, enforce safety standards
- Maintain detailed records on costs, yields, inventory, etc.
- Provide weekly metric reports to management
- Manage operating budgets and cash flows
- Ensure compliance with all regulations
- Ensure the safety and security of farm property
Requirements:
- 5+ years experience managing diversified farms
- Degree or HND in Agriculture with marketing/business experience
- Knowledge of pig and crop farming best practices
- Familiarity with offtake channels and sales networks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong record keeping and data analysis skills
- Leadership, problem-solving, and organization abilities
- Valid driver's license
